How to use Eight

Fine, thin waves and curls can be a double-edged sword. They're gorgeous, but they can also be prone to frizz, greasiness and lack definition. Here's where the Eight comes in. We formulated this 8-ingredient leave-in designed specifically for wavy and curly hair, and it is, as Sydnie with the curls said, a game-changer for those with fine strands.

Light, but hydrating

Many leave-in conditioners can weigh down fine hair, leaving it limp and lifeless. Eight is different. Its lightweight formula hydrates (necessary for all waves and curls) and nourishes your hair without overburdening it. This means you get the definition and frizz control you crave, without sacrificing volume.

Application: Start on DAMP waves and curls. If you do this on dry hair fine curls can become weighed down.

After washing your hair with Nine our hair cleanser remove excess water with a microfiber towel. You don't want your hair dripping wet, but it shouldn't be dry either.

  1. Less is More: A little goes a long way; depending on your hair length, start with a pea-sized amount. You can always add more later if needed.

  2. Apply Evenly: Gently distribute the product through your hair, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Avoid applying too close to the roots, which can make hair greasy.

  3. Scrunch and Style: Scrunching helps to enhance your curl pattern and define your waves. You can use a diffuser attachment on your hairdryer to gently dry your hair, or allow it to air dry naturally.

Styling:

We adore this face-framing look on soft curls and waves. Used here by hairstylist Nancy at Stori Hair Salon in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham.

Eight is used here in conjunction with a gel for extra hold.

Pro tips

Embrace the Diffuser: A diffuser helps to dry your hair without disrupting your curl pattern.

Get comfortable upside down: It can feel a bit strange initially, but this provides beautiful volume as your curls dry.

Pineapple Power: Sleeping with your hair in a pineapple (gathered loosely on top of your head) can help to prevent frizz and maintain your waves overnight.

Soft, princess waves and curls are just as glorious as our thicker curled friends. Remember that.
