Our ingredients: full disclosure

We’re all about transparency and education, so here's our list of ingredients and why they’re in our products:

Aqua (water): H2O is essential for hydration and detangling, a key ingredient in hair conditioning product.

Butyospermum Parkii (shea butter): We use raw, organic Ghanaian Shea butter from a women’s cooperative for it’s oleic acid properties - it is a rich emollient that adds both softness and a protective layer on dry textures.

Cetearyl Alcohol (vegetable-derived emulsifier): this is a combination of two long chain fatty alcohols from coconut. It is a natural emulsifier, which means it combines the oils in our products with the water easily.

Cetrimonium Chloride *we no longer use this ingredient. Our labels will be updated 01 November.

Phenoxyethanol and Capryl Glycol (preservative): we are legally (and sensibly) obliged to preserve our products if they contain water, which our leave-in conditioners do. This is a mix of phenols and ethanol. It safely preserves products.

Ricinus Communis (castor oil): Our castor oil is cold-pressed from castor seeds from India. Rich in ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid that has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and moisturising properties, castor oil is also a great source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin E, vitamin A, and zinc.

Olea Europaea Fruit Oil (olive oil): This unrefined oil is produced by pressing olives without the use of heat or chemicals, preserving its natural properties.

Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil (rosemary verbenine essential oil): Rosemary has a long history of use in traditional medicine. It is known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. We have a mild obsession with this incredible herb.

Anthemis Bobilis Flower Oil (roman chamomile essential oil): We use chamomile for its soothing, relaxing and healing properties. Known to soothe burns and be gentle enough in formulations for young skin.

Citrus Nobilis Peel Oil (mandarin essential oil): The unsung hero in haircare, Mandarin boosts circulation, is both antibacterial and antinflammatory, making it ideal for rich textures.
